Sarah understands how being present in one’s emotions, working through anxiety/fear and applying solution-focused steps can help them to live an authentic and meaningful life.
Sarah is a Therapist and Birth Doula. She works with individuals and with couples who are looking for professional, emotional support in many aspects of their lives such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, parenting, birth trauma, infertility, miscarriage, and infant loss.
Sarah also works with expectant, first-time, and seasoned mothers and their partners/families to help them navigate their way through their pre-pregnancy, prenatal and postpartum period. For the soon-to-be Mom, this can help create a more hopeful, positive experience leading up to the transition into parenthood and can decrease the risk of postpartum depression.
Teaching “Emotion Coaching” tools to couples gives them the opportunity to learn how to deeply validate & reassure one another in order to develop a healthy relationship, enjoy one another’s company and feel supported/united in their parenting.
Sarah is available for in-person counselling sessions, but also works with clients internationally via Skype. She also runs a 5 week post-birth support group called Ever After. This series provides new mothers an opportunity to connect, share and grow in their journey with their baby.
The process of her therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). Sarah is a Registered Professional Counsellor cand (RPCc) and is an active member of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA). She is a certified facilitator for “Traumatic Incident Reduction” (TIR). Sarah’s office is based out of Living Wellness Centre in South Surrey, BC, but she also works with clients internationally via Skype.
